The essay is a small composition in prose, characterized by a free composition. The essay must necessarily express not just the impressions of a certain person, but also considerations on any subject or topic. It should not claim a critical examination of the subject.
Forms of essays can be very different, depending on what the direction of the subject or problem is. So, it may be the analysis of statistical data, the evaluation of materials from the media, a detailed analysis of the problem with the clarification of opinions of experts, the selection and careful analysis of those examples that illustrate the problem.
In the essay, as in the form of presentation, the following sections should be present:
The rule of writing essay that I put on the first place is a small amount. As more words are, so further the authors of the essay can go from its essence. Therefore, despite all the desire to consider any problem from all sides, one should keep the minimum volume – one to three sheets.
The specific subject and subjective interpretation is also very important, because the theme of the essay is, as is known, concrete. That is, it can not include many topics or thoughts. This genre displays only one option, one idea and develops it. Thus, the essay is the answer to a specific question.
Another important characterizing feature of the genre, I believe freedom in the composition plan. As many teachers note (and I completely agree with them), the essay is built in a peculiar way – it does not tolerate certain frameworks or formalities. Moreover, it should be built in defiance of logical laws. The essay should be subordinated to the associations and guided by a simple principle that everything is the other way around.
A simple narrative is explained by the fact that its compiler needs to establish a style of communication with the reader that will inspire confidence. I noticed in practice that the ideal essay can only be made by one who is fluent in the subject matter, the evidence base.
The tendency to paradoxes I perceive as the next rule of this essay. It is necessary to surprise the reader. The starting point for reflection is very often a colorful statement or a precise definition, built on paradoxes. It must confront those statements, characteristics, theses, which seem indisputable, but, at the same time, are mutually exclusive.
The sixth and very important rule seems to me one of the most difficult – it is an inner unity in meaning. The bottom line is that free in terms of composition, aimed at subjectivity, the essay must express a certain thought. This implies the consistency of theses and statements, the internal harmony of evidence and associations.
And, finally, the seventh postulate is orientation to spoken language. At the same time, you should avoid using slang, phrases from the template, abbreviations of definitions and common words, unnecessarily flippant tone. That is, the language used in the compilation process must be perceived as seriously and closely as possible.
So, we write an essay on the topic of proper nutrition.
Proper nutrition is the basis of human health. The food that we take that ensures the development and constant renewal of cells and tissues of the body, is the source of energy that our body spends not only under physical exertion, but also at rest. With food in our body a sufficient number of necessary substances must come: proteins, fats, carbohydrates, vitamins, trace elements, minerals. Proper nutrition is an integral element of a healthy lifestyle and a guarantee of stable body functioning. The daily diet should be diverse, full-fledged and ensure the receipt of all important nutrients.
