Five steps to writing a research paper about your life.
Step one – collecting topics for the essay writing.
Start remembering examples from your life experience that can be summed up under these topics. Write everything that comes to mind. The following questions will help you concentrate:
What do you like to do most of all? What are your hobbies?
Do you have certain skills or talent?
Who influenced your life most of all? Who is most memorable?
What did you do in the past holidays?
What is your best day? Describe it.
What has changed in your life in the past 4 years?
Remember the most memorable moment with your relatives/ friends/teachers.
What achievements are you proud of?
What makes you unique?
What is your most important quality?
Whose philosophy of life do you adhere to?
Remember the most difficult task that you had to perform.
When and where you demonstrated leadership qualities.
It happens that everyone writes about the same thing. Your task is to stand out. Your essay should be original and different from the other. Make sure that you write the original topics (usually people write about travel, parents, sports). You need to demonstrate a unique approach to the topic. Your idea should be supported by good examples or stories. Experts on the selection committee should analyze your essay, so it will be good if you do not have superficial ideas and you will be able to think about some things.
Be yourself. Do not think about what the reception team would like to see. Select the topics that you can reveal and that matter to you. Express your ideas and share your experiences.
Start with an interesting introduction. You need to start the essay so that you want to read on. For example, you can start with the fact that you are afraid of the sound of weapons. Many will immediately realize that there will be a sequel about the war or that you have heard the sounds of shooting. You share the secret, telling about your phobia of dentists. Remember only that the introduction should not be delayed, you have a limited scope of the essay.
Share information about yourself. The essay is a unique opportunity to communicate with the university. Your essay should show what you think, your attitude to life, goals and you as a person. Focus on yourself.
Write what will be remembered and will attract the reader. Put questions for the reader, share feelings, so that commission staff can feel what you felt. Ask yourself, it would be interesting for you to read your essay.
Use the original language. You need to re-read your essay several times so that you use interesting words, grammatical structures. Be careful with humor, rarely anyone can use it competently.
Show growth and development. Employees of the admission committee want to see how you grew up, when you went through some situation, how your life has changed. They also evaluate ways you can study at a university. Be sure to write about how you changed and what difficulties passed, what you learned in the process.
Finish your essay so that the worker of the admission committee will remember you. You can complete your ideas in such a way that they can think about it.
Check the essay many times, ask for help from friends, relatives. You can write to the students of your chosen university and ask them to help, suggest ideas or amendments to your essay.
To make sure that there are no mistakes and misprints in the essay, there is a good technique – read the essay from the end. When you read from the end, you do not concentrate on errors, but your focus is on words and writing. Check any words in the spelling of which you are not sure in the dictionary.
Read the words. If you are asked to write 500 words, do not write more than 10 – 20 words in excess of the established limit.
